Greene County Activities Booster Club (GCABC) is putting the emphasis on FUN with activities planned throughout the year to showcase Ram Spirit.
Friday evening at homecoming, GCABC will host a free Kids’ Fun Zone. Between the freshman and varsity games, youngsters are invited to the north end of Linduska Field to participate in a variety of games and activities. Crazy Concessions costume race, tire throw, sack races, and field goal kick are planned. The Ram football cheerleaders will paint faces. The middle school football teams will help with the fun.
“With the success of the costume races and football throw at the last couple of games, we decided to expand and make homecoming special for our younger Ram fans,” said GCABC board spokesperson Laura Ballard. “We not only raise funds to support school activities, but work to raise spirit and pride in Greene County Schools.”
The Activities Booster Club will also do YARD LINE CHALLENGE from its tent inside the west gate. For $10, participants can “purchase” the line of their choice – 5, 10, 15, and so on – for a chance to win $30. The person who “owns” the line closest to where the ball lies at the end of the first quarter wins $30. The challenge is repeated at the end of the second and third quarters of the game. YARD LINE CHALLENGE spots must be purchased before the start of the game.
The purpose of the GCABC is to promote and support the educational and extracurricular activities and programs of the Greene County Community School District. All money raised by GCABC is disbursed to athletic, music, speech, and art departments and to projects that improve facilities. Anyone interested in sponsorship, becoming a member of the board, or helping with an activity should visit the GCABC website at www.gcabc.org or visit the Facebook page.
